Lights Out: Halloween Snapshot

James Wan, who brought horror fans films like ‘The Conjuring’, now gives us ‘Lights Out’. Expectations were high, and expectations were not met. ‘Lights Out’ follows moody adult (?) Rebecca, who takes in her younger brother after he’s shown to be chronically sleep-deprived. It’s then that her childhood fears come back to haunt her, with a mysterious creature that will only attack in darkness. The film was essentially targeted at people’s fear of the dark, and by the end of it, I wasn’t even spooked. A hastily thrown together storyline, frustrating cast and just general bad graphics made for a disappointing watch. Wan had so much potential as a film maker, but this is definitely one of his flicks you can skip 5/10
