A serial killer called ‘Buffalo Bill’, so called as he skins his victims, is leaving the FBI baffled. At wits end they send a trainee to visit one of the country’s most prolific serial killers, Hannibal Lecter (Hannibal the Cannibal). What ensues is a psychological cat and mouse game between Clarice Starling, and Hannibal Lecter. As the clock ticks, and a high profile victim is kidnapped, Clarice must question how much of herself she must show to Hannibal to solve this case. This film, and the book it is based on, are one of my all time favourite psychological thrillers. The growing relationship between Hannibal and Clarice – unsettling but necessary leaves audiences intrigued. The tension in every scene is done so well, I grip my seat, even though I’ve seen the film 3 or 4 times. Definitely a must see 10/10

This movie and the book were both really great, the atmosphere on point and really stands the time test, even today *_*

I agree! I loved the book, but was really disappointed how Clarice and Hannibal’s relationship turned out in the sequel

Hiya, did you enjoy the first one? If you enjoyed the first one I reckon the second one is definitely worth it. It’s not as good as the first one, but you get to see more of the Clarice/ Hannibal dynamic, but if you weren’t too fussed on the first one then you can skip the 2nd. But the final one, Hannibal Rising is awful. I also recommend checking out ‘Red Dragon’, it’s a prequel to the first one and is really fun!

I loved the first one! Okay yeah I’ll check it out then. Is it a similar premise to the first one where Clarice needs Hannibal to find a serial killer?

‘Hannibal’ is kind of like Clarice trying to find Hannibal after his escape in ‘Silence of the Lambs’, ‘Red Dragon’ is a lot like ‘Silence of the Lambs’ but it features the guy who actually caught Hannibal (Will Graham). Also if you are interested in watching the TV show, I don’t think it does the films/books justice, but I recommend stopping before season 3 (ending at Season 2 finale) cause it just goes to shit. But the Hannibal series is really gory, I watch a lot of horror and I struggled with it, if by episode 2 you think it’s too much stop, cause it only gets worse 😥
