Just two years after Altlus’ incredibly successful ‘Persona 4: Dancing All Night’, two new Persona rhythm games have been announced! The new games will arrive in Spring 2018 on both ps vita and ps4 in Japan. We can only hope that a localisation will follow soon after. This is really exciting news for Vita players (like myself), as a lot of great games often skip out on vita for their releases. This incredible news also comes just a few days after the Persona 5 anime announcement. The new anime series will be produced by A-1 Pictures, known for anime such as ‘Fairy Tail’ and ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’. The anime will also be released in 2018.
From the P5 Dancing trailer we can see that the characters will be dancing on the streets of Shibuya and even in some of the palaces! I have to say that the movements are significantly more fluid than they were in P4: Dancing All Night. The P3 Dancing trailer gives us a quick look at some of the costumes that will be on offer for us to buy. Both of the games’ music stick true to the iconic jazzy pop music of the Persona series. The trailers do not mention a price for the games, nor do they say if there will be a special edition set or dual pack set. But knowing Atlus I’m sure they will have some fun merchandise to go with the games. You can also check out their official website over here!
I’m definitely really excited for these two games. I haven’t played Persona 3, and am (slowly) making my way through Persona 5. I will be interested to see how Atlus ties in the dancing with the stories of P3 and P5. As in P4 one of the characters was an idol, and so there was a singing/ dancing link. My only hope for this game is that they have a bit more of a mixture of the songs. One big issue for me in Persona 4: Dancing All Night was that some of the songs had about 3 remixes which were counted as separate songs!
I’ll update this post as more information comes through on the game!
